I NEED A VA LIKE ME!

It's what people say when they've finally stopped trying to force themselves into systems built for someone else's brain.

You're self-employed, with ADHD so the work is not the problem - you already know what needs doing. The gap is between knowing and doing and it costs you in time, energy and a fair amount of self-blame.

Whether you were diagnosed years ago or are still working out what it means, this starts with how your mind actually works.

“Today, I’m getting everything sorted! So… where to start?"

"The list has been in my head for three weeks. Some of it for three months. I move it around, I rewrite it and none of it gets done."

"Argh! I forgot to send the invoices! … I’ll just get this one thing done first…

Wait… what was I doing?"

"The appointment needs booking, the car needs sorting, there's a birthday I've nearly missed again. I know. I just can't make myself start any of it.

The cost of the wrong fit
You're capable and the work gets done but it costs more than it should - in time, in energy and in the mental load of holding it all in your head. Most business systems were built for linear thinkers, so if your brain doesn't work that way, the system keeps failing you.

First the Friction
I start by finding where the friction actually is. We trace a task through your day, where it starts and where it stalls, then work out what would fit instead and I recommend tools to suit. Ongoing support grows from there.

Designed for your brain
Everything here starts with how you already work, then shapes the tools and the routine around that. Have a look at what's on offer and find the right place to start.

A Simple place to begin:

  • Step 1: The 15-minute chat.

A free call to work out which session fits your situation.

  • Step 2: Power Hour or Workflow Assessment

Depending on what you need, we get everything out of your head and onto the table, find where the friction is and shape a plan that fits how you actually work. If you want to carry on together afterwards, there's a path for that too.

"I feel seen, heard and understood. I already feel more hopeful than I have in weeks." ~ Fiona C

WORK WITH ME

Two ways in, depending on what you need right now. One clears your head and sets your priorities, the other looks at how the whole business is running. Both end with a written plan you can act on.

For when your head is full and you can't see where to start.

In up to 60 minutes we get everything out and into order, find where the friction is and agree what to do first, second and third. If you know what needs doing but can't get to it, that's exactly where we start.

      What you get:

  • A complete offload — every thought, every problem, everything that's been sitting there

  • A clear picture of what's eating your time and energy

  • A written summary of what we covered and your next steps

  • An email check-in a couple of weeks later

For when there's too much on and no clear view of what to prioritise.

In up to 90 minutes we look at how your business is running and where it's losing you time, find where your workflows are breaking down and what to fix first.

       What you get:

  • Space to think it through without the fog getting in the way

  • A clear picture of where the problems are and why

  • A written report recommending the right tools and a better way of working

  • A Zoom call four weeks on to see how the changes are landing

Workflow Assessment - £250

The Power Hour - £120

These sessions are where it starts. Most clients carry on into ongoing support afterwards because having a plan is one thing and keeping on top of everything week after week is another, whether that's a business, a household or a life that keeps getting away from you. Pay-as-you-go and monthly packages are there when you want them.

Not sure where to start? Book a free 15-minute call and we'll work it out together.

Larger packages work out at a better hourly rate.

A session gets you a plan. Keeping on top of it week after week is the harder part and it's where most clients carry on.

Ongoing support picks up from your session and keeps things running when real life gets in the way.

SERVICES

How I can help depends on your situation and your needs but it always starts the same way: finding where the friction is and tackling that first. A flavour of the real work:

Getting Things Moving

  • Body doubling to keep you on task

  • Breaking big tasks into steps and helping you prioritise

  • Turning your voice notes into a clear to-do list

  • Transcribing on-site voice recordings into written notes for quoting

  • Accountability check-ins and gentle nudges through the week

  • Being a practice audience when you rehearse a talk or training

Getting Things Organised

  • Pulling files scattered across several Google Drives into one clear place

  • Settling a task system into your routine so it actually sticks

  • Onboarding new apps and setting up reminders so they get used

  • Taming the inbox: filters, folders, focus time, unsubscribing from the noise

  • Keeping your calendar and task list in step

  • Creating and updating your SOPs

  • Setting up a simple way to see how long tasks really take

Keeping Things Ticking

  • A weekly progress update: what got done, what did not and what is next

  • Weekly check-ins to see what is working and adjust

  • Keeping your trackers, agendas and boards organised through the week

If you're not sure which of these fits your situation, book a free 15-minute call and we'll work it out.

WHAT MY CLIENTS SAY

Do you see yourself here? These clients started with a free call and so can you. Let's talk about getting you from overwhelmed to in control.

I work with self-employed people who have ADHD: sole traders, solopreneurs, one-person businesses. Some have known for years. Others are newly diagnosed and staring at it with no idea where to start. Both are welcome and both begin in the same place.

Let's discuss how to get you from overwhelmed to in control.

HI, I'M PIERA

None of it rewarded neat schedules or straight-line thinking. That's why I don't come at this from a textbook. I've worked the way you work.

My Background:

My own working life never ran in a straight line. Nearly thirty years of it, across IT helpdesks, office and project management and running an equestrian yard. A lot of different things, none of them tidy, plenty of them at once. If that pattern sounds familiar, that's rather the point.

Each one ran on the same instinct: work out what actually matters right now and keep everything moving, without a tidy plan to lean on.

What I don't do:

I don't arrive with a solution already in mind. You talk, I listen, I find out what's actually going on.

The problem usually looks one way on the surface and turns out to be something slightly different underneath. For example:

One client needed a transcription app to avoid losing scribbled notes

  • IT helpdesk is triage at pace: work out what's actually broken and fix it without bringing everything else down.

  • Office and project management is the slower version, keeping a business running smoothly enough that nobody notices you doing it.

  • Animal welfare means it doesn't matter what is on the list, all the tasks are urgent!

ADHD-Aware & Certified: ADHD-aware and certified, with training from coach Max Lawrence. Every recommendation I make accounts for the way an ADHD brain actually moves through the day, including the hyperfocus, the task-switching and the things that tend to slip.

Another needed numerous simple Word documents, each turned into a complex spreadsheet ready for uploading to an app

A third client had a large number of digital photos she wanted renamed and reorganised

And most clients need ongoing support because the problem wasn’t a single task, it was keeping up with everything over time.
Whatever form of help I bring, the starting point is always the same: find out what’s actually going on.

What I do:
The work takes different shapes. Some clients need one focused session or a proper look at how everything is running with a written plan to come out of it. Others need regular support to keep things on track: accountability to stop tasks sliding, body doubling to get the dreaded ones started and a steady eye on everything so that tasks are not forgotten.

If you’ve spent years thinking you were the problem, you weren’t. It was just the setup.
